Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State today received Nigeria’s top security leaders in what was described as a high-level courtesy visit to the Government House, Yola.
Leading the delegation was the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, accompanied by the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Chief of Defence Intelligence.

The visit, though informal, drew attention across security and political circles due to the stature of the personalities involved and the symbolism of their presence in Adamawa State. Governor Fintiri, who personally received the delegation, expressed appreciation for the show of solidarity and the reaffirmation of national unity in safeguarding Nigeria’s peace and stability.
“This visit, while a courtesy, speaks volumes about the mutual respect and cooperation between federal security leadership and state governments,” Governor Fintiri said.
Though no formal agenda was disclosed, the gathering provided a unique opportunity to reinforce federal-state synergy, particularly in a region historically impacted by security concerns.
The delegation’s visit to Yola—home state of NSA Nuhu Ribadu—also carried a symbolic undertone, highlighting the strategic importance of Adamawa in national intelligence and defence conversations.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s ongoing support for the efforts of national security agencies, noting that the peace and stability of Adamawa remain a top priority.
